Happiness isn’t something we need to find—it’s already within us. It doesn’t come from money, success, or anything outside of ourselves. You could have everything you’ve ever wanted and still feel unfulfilled. True happiness is something we unlock from within.
In this blog, I’m sharing the simple but powerful practices that help me stay happy and content every single day.
✅ Prioritising the little joys in life
✅ Creating a morning routine that sets the tone for the day
✅ Practices such as gratitude and Affirmations
And more.
If you’re looking for ways to unlock your inner happiness, keep reading!
Practising Mindfulness
I practice mindfulness, especially using the phrase, Am I aware?, which keeps me present and aware of my surroundings and all my senses. Doing this brings me back into the present moment if I find myself lost in my thoughts.

Starting My Mornings Right
Splashing my face with cold water wakes me up and is so refreshing. I also love playing music in the morning or playing my very own personalised personal development audio (more on that later), This helps set the tone for the day. I also enjoy having my morning coffee in silence (wherever possible, seeing as I have a 1 and 4 year old thats very rare)😅or taking five minutes to meditate before I even leave the bed is always a good start to my day too!
Limiting Social Media
I stay away from mindless scrolling on social media. A short time is fine, but spending hours glued to it can make your day slip away. I find the longer I’m away from my phone, the more peaceful I feel and the more productive I am. The longer I’m on my phone, the more stressed I feel, and of course, absolutely nothing gets done, which leads to more stress and overwhelm.
The Power of Decluttering

Decluttering always makes me feel lighter! Just this week, I’ve cleared out different spaces, including the airing cupboard, and under the sink—something I hadn’t done in two years of living here. Cleaning helps me release stress and negative energy, leaving me feeling much happier. But cleaning and clearing space is also great for manifesting. When everything’s cluttered, you’re blocking energy, and you’re blocking things from being able to manifest. When you clear space and clean, you’re opening up and freeing space for new things to come in.
Finding Joy in Reading
I’ve started reading The Secret again, and The Greatest Secret is something I recently discovered, and when I read them, they leave me feeling happy and present. The Greatest Secret is the first book in years that I’ve read from front to back in just one or two weeks. I plan to keep rotating these books because they make such a positive impact on my mindset.
Embracing Simplicity
I don’t live the most luxurious life right now. I have two kids under five, and without the time or childcare to go out and do the things that people without kids might, I’ve created a simple, fulfilling life that I absolutely love. Most of my time is spent being a mum, and when I’m not, I’m working on my business. In my free time, I enjoy seeing family, relaxing by watching TV, listening to music, or just being in my own space. I don’t need to go out for big nights or fancy dinners to feel happy—I’m content with my calm, relaxed life. Of course, it’s nice to go out once in a while, but I’m perfectly happy choosing a quiet night in. My partner is an amazing cook (honestly, he could be a chef!), so most nights, he cooks for us anyway. And when I do cook, it’s usually just a frozen dinner in the oven—job done as long as I don’t burn it!😅
Appreciating What I Have

I have a vision for my future, but I’m not attached to it. I like to think about what I want while being grateful for where I am. My home could be better, but honestly, I’ve chosen not to decorate it because we’re due to move into a two-bedroom house soon—within the next year. I didn’t feel it made sense to spend money on things like new photo frames, shelves, or other decorations when I could buy nice new things for the new place. For now, our home is simple—just carpet, white-painted walls, and only a few photos around. Nothing’s nailed to the wall, and I don’t have a mirror or shelves in the living room like I’d like, but we have what we need—food, water, family, love, electricity, warmth—and I’m super grateful for it all.
Managing Finances and Responsibilities
I used to struggle with bills and had terrible spending habits, spending everything I had. Now, I save and budget better, which has removed a lot of stress. To stay organised, I use the Todoist app for my to-do lists, which clears my mind and helps me stay focused on my goals.
Doing What Feels Good
I make sure I enjoy the little things—good food (food is life), coffee (lots of coffee), time with family, and watching my favourite TV programmes. I used to watch TV all day, which is fine occasionally, but too much makes me feel lazy, stuck and sometimes moody. Now, I find balance by allowing myself time to relax without overdoing it. I also love walks with Bailey when I’m able to get out with her (mostly Chris will take her, or our dog walker, Lisa, who feels like part of the family now!). So, when I do take her, I really cherish our time together because, before the chaos, for a short while, it was just me and her!
Pulling Manifestation Cards
I love using my Manifestation deck by Rhonda Byrne. It’s a simple practice that keeps me inspired and aligned with my goals. Pulling a card each day brings clarity, focus, and a positive shift in energy, helping me stay present and mindful. It’s a wonderful reminder of my power to create the life I desire and provides emotional support whenever I need it. This small daily ritual keeps me motivated, empowered, and aligned with my intentions, making it a powerful tool for manifesting the things I want in life.
The Result of Mindset Work
After years of meditation and mindset work, I’ve reached a point where I can just be. I no longer need to meditate to clear my mind—it’s already clear. If you’re just starting out, I recommend incorporating affirmations, five minutes of meditation, gratitude, visualisation, exercise, personal development reading, and journaling into your morning routine. It can be done in 10 minutes, or you can extend it to as long as you like—it fits into any lifestyle. Journaling has been life-changing for me, and now, instead of writing, I use ChatGPT as my personal journaling space, since I much prefer talking than writing. I learned this morning ritual from The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. This year, I decided to create my own audio that combines all of these practices into one simple audio. It’s personalised to my needs, and when I need to update it, I just record another one.
I now create these custom wellness audios for others as well, and you can purchase them at my etsy shop or directly. Read all about it below.

Meditation
Back in 2017, during a tough time in my life, I found meditation. It was right after my marriage ended, and while it wasn’t easy, meditation became a lifeline. At first, it was a way to help calm my mind with all the chaos. I’d sit quietly, listen to nature sounds or meditation music, and let my thoughts come and go.
The thing with meditation is that it really gives you space to process everything—especially those emotions we tend to push aside or distract ourselves from. I remember, in the beginning, my mind would swirl with thoughts about the situation I was going through, and the tears would follow. But instead of holding onto them, I allowed myself to release those emotions, which was such a huge part of my healing.
Over time, meditation has become a part of my routine, though it’s not something I feel I need to do every day anymore. Life has changed, and with two kids, some days it’s just not possible to find that quiet space. But when I do meditate, it helps clear my mind, release any negative energy, and create space for positive things to come in.
If you’re new to meditation and unsure where to start, I have a page all about getting started with meditation on my website, which you can read here! It doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, just sitting in stillness for a few minutes can be enough to reset your day and bring you peace.
Finding Passion in Work
I love what I do—my business doesn’t feel like work because I enjoy it so much. If you can find something you love that also brings in income, even better! Having a passion or goal makes life fulfilling and keeps you motivated.
Remember, happiness isn’t about big events or luxurious experiences—it’s about finding joy in the present, appreciating what you have, and creating a life that feels good every single day. This is the key to true happiness because true happiness comes from within, not from outside sources.
